ROOTED IN NAXOS
Our Story
Capriccio is a family restaurant in Naxos, with roots deeply connected to local hospitality, tradition, and the life of the island.
Our story begins in Filoti, one of the most traditional villages of Naxos, the place of origin of the Gratsia family, where hospitality has always been part of everyday life. There, in the village square, our grandfather ran his traditional café, a place of gathering, conversation, and authentic Naxian warmth. It was in that environment that our understanding of hospitality was shaped from an early age: simple, generous, and genuine.
Years later, that same philosophy found its place by the sea.
In 2001, it began as a café and creperie on the seafront of Chora, Naxos. Over time, the space evolved naturally and meaningfully. From the summer of 2012, Capriccio took the form of a restaurant, with a clear focus on Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, refined flavors, quality ingredients, and consistent care for every guest.
Capriccio remains a family restaurant to this day. At the heart of it are Nikolas, the father of the family, and his son, Juliano, who continues the restaurant’s journey with consistency, care, and respect. Their presence is reflected every day in the atmosphere of the space, in the way we welcome our guests, and in the importance we place on every detail.
What defines Capriccio is not only its setting on the seafront of Naxos, but above all the values that accompany it: continuity, family identity, attention to detail, and an authentic connection to the island. Our aim has always been to create an environment where guests can enjoy Greek and Mediterranean flavors in a setting that feels elegant, calm, and effortlessly welcoming.
Today, Capriccio continues to welcome guests from Greece and abroad who are looking for a restaurant in Naxos with character, authenticity, and a refined experience by the sea.
